A structured, function-by-function look at how ready each part of your manufacturing business is for digitally enabled transformation and AI. Every leader gets a personal report. Your team gets the Multifunctional Leadership Report, which is where the real insight sits.

Free for every functional leader · 25–35 minutes · Personal report on completion

How It Works

From individual answers to one agreed starting point

  1. 01

Each leader completes the Deep Dive

Free at the functional level. Questions tailored to their own function, plus common questions on strategy, data, people, change and AI. Four answers per question, no middle option, and room for real examples.

    25–35 minutes each
  2. 02

    Personal report, instantly

Their profile across five dimensions, the next step that would help most in each, and a full copy of their answers to save or print.

    On completion
  3. 03

    Multifunctional Leadership Report

We bring the answers together: where the team agrees, where functions differ, the blind spots between them, and the strongest place to start.

    Once your leaders have finished
  4. 04

    Digital strategy & follow-on meeting

The report becomes the basis of a digital strategy specific to your business. We then meet to agree the first move: a Scan, Pilot or Scale step where benefit will come soonest.

The Personal Report

What every leader takes away

Each leader sees their own area scored across five dimensions, with a plain-English next step for each. It is useful on its own, before the team view is assembled.

  • Strategy & leadership: whether digital and AI have clear outcomes, owners and funding.
  • Data & systems: how far the numbers can be trusted and how well systems connect.
  • People & skills: confidence, capability and capacity to adopt new tools.
  • Change & culture: how change usually lands, and whether benefits are measured.
  • AI & innovation readiness: current AI use, guidance and appetite to try things safely.
The Scale

Four levels, no flattery

1 ReactiveRelies on people, paper and workarounds.
2 ManagedBasics in place, but the real work runs on spreadsheets and effort.
3 DefinedStandard ways of working and trusted systems for most things.
4 ConnectedJoined-up, data-led and ready to scale AI.
The Multifunctional Leadership Report

The report leadership teams value most

A single survey tells you what one person thinks. The Multifunctional Leadership Report shows whether your leadership team is describing the same business, and that is usually the first time anyone has seen it laid out.

  • Where you agree: the shared priorities you can move on quickly.
  • Where functions differ: for example, a board that sees trusted data while operations sees re-keying and workarounds.
  • The blind spots between functions: the risks nobody owns because they sit between two departments.
  • The strongest starting point: mapped across Demand, Supply and Product, and matched to a Scan, Pilot or Scale step.

The report is the foundation of a digital strategy specific to your business, and the agenda for a follow-on meeting with John, online or in person.

Questions

About the Deep Dive

How long does the Leadership Deep Dive take?

Around 25 to 35 minutes per leader. Progress saves on the device being used, so a leader can stop and come back to it.

Does it cost anything?

Not at the functional level. Every leader completes the Deep Dive free of charge and receives a personal report when they finish. The Multifunctional Leadership Report then opens the option of a follow-on meeting, online or in person.

Which leaders should take part?

Anyone who leads a function: the managing director, operations, supply chain, commercial, engineering or R&D, finance, quality and HSE, people and IT. The more functions that take part, the sharper the comparison in the Multifunctional Leadership Report.

Why are there only four answers to each question?

To avoid the comfortable middle answer. Each leader chooses the option closest to what usually happens, not what should happen. That produces a far more honest picture than a five-point scale.

Who sees our answers?

Your answers are confidential to Waypoint North and your leadership team. Individual reports are for the leader who completed them; the Multifunctional Leadership Report is shared with the leadership team that took part.

What is the difference between the personal report and the Multifunctional Leadership Report?

The personal report shows one leader's view of their own area. The Multifunctional Leadership Report brings every leader's answers together and shows where the team agrees, where functions see the business differently, and where the strongest starting point sits.
